It is reported that the founder of the Loess School and the painter of the people, Mr. Liu Wenxi, died on July 7th at 13: 50 minutes, at the age of 86.
His paintings are called "the 1.5 million people see the most." Because he has the most special "special works", it is the fifth set of portraits of Chairman Mao on the renminbi. Mao Zedong’s head on the 5 yuan, 10 yuan, 50 yuan, and 100 yuan currently used is from his hand.
Liu Wenxi, born in 1933 in Shuizhu Village, Changle Town, Cangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is a contemporary painter. In 1950, he entered the "Yucai School" founded by Mr. Tao Xingzhi in Shanghai to study fine arts. In 1953, he entered the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts and was taught by Mr. Pan Tianshou and others. After graduating in 1958, he went to work at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts.
He has served as a member of the National Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a former vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Painting Art Committee, and the first batch of 100 famous teachers in the country. He is currently the Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Loess School, the Chairman of the Chinese Contemporary Painting Association, the Honorary Chairman of the Shaanxi Artists Association, the Honorary Dean of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, the Professor, the Doctoral Tutor, the Fifth Set of Mao Zedong's Portrait Creator, Shaanxi Province Consultant of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles and experts with outstanding contributions throughout the country.
The main works include《毛主席和牧羊人》,《陕北人》,《东方》,《解放区的天》and the huge series of long rolls《黄土人》. He has published thousands of works at home and abroad, published more than ten albums, 25 works collected by the National Art Museum of China, and won 9 national awards. For more than 50 years, Liu Wenxi has been writing to Yan'an for more than 90 times. He has always concentrated his efforts on shaping ordinary people and the people's leaders, and has pioneered the "Chinese Yellow Painting School" in modern Chinese painting circles. He has a special position in contemporary Chinese painting, and his character painting has become a must in Chinese painting.
